Workshop Details

Pruning always seems to be a topic that intimidates a lot of people. One wrong snip and you could set your fruit tree back years! But at the same time, once you understand the fundamentals, you'll realize just how easy and enjoyable pruning really is. So get ready to leave your pruning worries behind and come join us for a day-long pruning workshop where we will co over the fundamentals of pruning fruit trees, nut trees, berry bushes, and other plants!

Workshop Format

​

The workshop will take place on a single day over a period of six hours, which includes a one-hour lunch break, with lunch provided by us. We will provide some tools, but we encourage you to bring your own pruning tools if you have them, as we will likely not have enough tools for everyone. The workshop will cover pruning theory and practice and everyone who attends will have a chance to practice the various techniques and shapes taught in the workshop.

Workshop Schedule

9:45 - 10:00 am: Meet at Hundred Fruit Farm. Grab some coffee or tea (provided by us) and sign in for the workshop.

10:00 - 10:30 am: The importance of pruning - why and how it works

10:30 - 11:00 am: Pruning tools overview and maintenance

11:00 am - 11:30 am: Fruit and nut tree pruning fundamentals and theory

11:30 am - 12:30 pm: Fruit and nut tree pruning hands-on practice

12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Lunch (provided by Hundred Fruit Farm)

1:30 - 2:30 pm: More fruit and tree pruning hands-on practice

2:30 - 3:00 pm: Berry pruning fundamentals

3:00 - 4:00 pm: Berry pruning hands-on practice

Workshop Cost

​

The cost for the workshop is $55 per person. This includes a farm fresh lunch as well as coffee, tea, and snacks for breaks. If you prefer to bring your own lunch because you have special dietary restrictions, please let us know and we can deduct a small amount from the cost of the workshop.

Who is this workshop for?

​

This workshop is basically for anyone and everyone, though we think children under 12 might have a hard time staying focused and engaged for the whole day. Children who attend must be in the supervision of an adult also attending the workshop.
