Workshop Details

Kimchi, Korea's one of staple foods, has gained quite a bit of popularity over the past 10 years. You can now easily find kimchi in a corner of big grocery stores, and more recipes in English are available online for you to make it yourself. However, what many people don't know or don't get to experience is the kimchi making culture itself. In Korea, traditionally it's a big event families and friends or a even a whole village make plans and get together to make kimchi. People spend whole day brining cabbages, chopping ingredients, and mixing them all to make huge batches of kimchi for the whole winter. At the end, they celebrate the hard day of work with freshly made kimchi and locally sourced pork. At Hundred Fruit Farm, Sunghee would love to share that tradition with you!

Learn about:

  • History and culture of kimchi in Korea

  • Where to source the ingredients and supplies

  • How to choose good ingredients for kimchi

  • How to enjoy kimchi in various ways

Learn and get lots of hands-on experience with:

  • How to make kimchi

  • How to cook a pork dish that's enjoyed with fresh kimchi

  •

What you'll go home with:

  • A 18 oz jar of freshly made kimchi
